FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENT
When we address challenging behaviors, we must first understand the relationships between the environment and the behavior.
The goals of an FBA include:
- Clearly defining challenging behaviors
- Pinpointing any triggers or contexts where the behaviors are likely to occur
- Identifying why the behaviors are occurring and which more appropriate behaviors can be taught to replace the problem behaviors.
A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) helps us learn why the behavior occurs, resulting in more effective interventions and positive changes that last over time.
We are now offering social skills groups!
